Point of Seduction by Lori King
Built around the premise that love can be found with multiple partners, the Island of Sunset Point has always been Gabriella Larkin’s home. She respects the open minded community, but her own past relationships have left her burned, and she can’t overcome her doubts about love. Throwing herself into her clothing boutique Designs By Lark she makes it her number one focus, until she meets Austin, Michael and Kendrick.
Brothers Austin and Michael Curtis along with their best friend Kendrick McClure are new to the island, but not to the idea of ménage. A chance meeting with the gorgeous Gaby has sparks flying and the men planning on seduction. Enthralled by the intense sexual attraction between the four of them, Gaby embarks on a tumultuous and passionate relationship with the trio, but reaching the Point of Seduction will mean facing off with her past…
Lori King’s Point of Seduction was the first book released in the Sunset Point series but one of the fabulous highlights of this series is that you can read them in any order you wish and still have a mind-blowing experience. In this case, you can say that I saved the best for last because this book was one of my favorite of the entire series. Gaby, our feisty heroine is bundle of contradictions. She is independent yet seeks approval. She is fun loving and out-going yet lady-like and tame. She is confident and knows her place in the world yet shows her uncertainty at times. Gaby made me laugh and charmed me with her klutziness and her fashion hoarding. So, it’s no surprise that it takes three men to tame this fabulously complex woman. Austin and Michael are brothers’ who, along with their best friend Kendrick, fall under the bewitching spell Gaby. Comfortable and familiar with the ménage lifestyle, the three men embark on a romance with the woman they all feel is perfect for them. In my head, no one seduces better than Austin, Michael and Kendrick. With their whip-cord strong bodies and their open and loving hearts, Gaby has no defense against their seduction. Hikes, sail-boat tours, dinners and dancing, nighttime skinny dipping, and even some martial arts lessons, these men pull out all the stops to win her heart and soul. Not everything is perfect on the path to love, however. A protective and judgmental father and an ass-hat douche-bag of an ex-boyfriend and you have the perfect ingredient for some angsty tension that sets our heroes protective instincts into full-out alpha-male mode. When Gaby is kidnapped, these men stop at nothing to save the love of their lives. The plot was outstanding. Ms. King has the unique ability to create one-of-a-kind characters that are deep and real and her imagination and creativity are out of this world. I was thoroughly entertained from beginning to end and I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to fall in love over and over again. 5 of 5 stars.
Cross Point by Laurie Roma
Former IAD agent Katrina “Trinity” Cross is in desperate need of a vacation. When a friend asks for a personal favor, Trinity agrees to fly to the island of Sunset Point, only to find that things in paradise aren’t what they seem…
Jackson Stone is a man who likes regulation and order, but when Katrina Cross arrives on his island, life as he knows it’ll never be the same.
Falling behind schedule is not allowed in Maxwell King’s orderly world. Missing money, cheap materials and a dead foreman top of the list of his problems, but nothing shakes him more than the sexy siren that sets his body on fire…
As the investigation heats up, Maxwell and Jackson both fall for Trinity, but she can’t choose between the uptight corporate mogul and the rough and ready police Lieutenant. Can she find a way to keep them both or will their love become a casualty at the Cross Point?
From the first time I was introduced to Trinity Cross in Ms. Roma’s IAD Series, I knew it would take a super special man to tame this wild cat. The joke was on me because it took not one special man, but two to bring this woman down. Trinity is fierce and passionate and completely real and honest. She makes no apologies for who she is and what she wants and she decides that she wants not only Jackson, but Maxwell too. And she wants them both together. Jackson and Maxwell overcome their own insecurities and doubts and woo Trinity, complete with a few missteps and misunderstandings along the way. These characters have passion and fire and hold you completely spellbound when they are together. Their raw passion and chemistry keeps your senses sizzling and your hormones all aflutter. The plot was fast paced and action packed and gave me everything I’ve come to expect in a Laurie Roma book…plus a little extra more. Throw in some Naughty Sprinkles and some good-old-fashion butt kicking and this book entertains you from beginning to end. 5 of 5 stars.
Hearts and Handcuffs – Erika Reed
When Amber Green’s boyfriend’s actions get her fired, she reaches out to her best friend and finds herself swept up an the opportunity of a lifetime. Offered a new job and a chance to move to a tropical paradise, Amber says yes and packs her bags, leaving her old life behind. Or so she thought…
Millionaire Reid Sullivan is a widower that owns a lush and lavish villa on the private side of Sunset Point. Reid is immediately intrigued by Amber, and offers the beautiful woman a job to work for him as his live-in-housekeeper after hearing she needs a place to stay.
Dante DeSoto is a hard-ass detective from Chicago Police Department whose investigation leads him to Sunset Point after the sudden death of Amber’s ex-boyfriend. After meeting the gentle beauty, he is convinced of Amber’s innocence. Dante decides to stay on the island so that he and Reid can help protect her.
Both men want Amber, but they’re going to have to find a way to share. With old demons and new dangers dogging them every step of the way, the three lovers will have to fight for the happily ever after they long to share.
In Erika Reed’s Hearts and Handcuffs, heroine Amber Green brings trouble all the way to Sunset Point and takes us readers on a fun and fast paced ride. Amber has been fired and it’s all because of her scummy now-ex-boyfriend. She has come to Sunset Point at the insistence of her friend Trinity and is starting over. And there is no better way to start over than capturing the attention of local widower Reid Sullivan. Reid has suffered tragedy and heartache in his past and a chance encounter has him inviting Amber to stay with him at his home as a temporary house-keeper. But, right behind Reid, Chicago Detective Dante DeSoto has come to find Amber while looking for clues in the murder of Amber’s ex-boyfriend. While Amber is innocent, Dante believes her to be in trouble and together these men vow to keep Amber safe. Throw in some wicked-hot hot tub scenes, a little bit of beach action and a pretty dreamy date and I was completely sold on this trio. I also have to mention…the hiding place of certain items the bad guys are looking for…OMG, it is pure genius. Their chemistry is amazing and in addition to their relationship, I loved watching Dante and Reid bond on an intimate level, not romantically but like they had just found a friendship they didn’t know they were missing. The plot was fast paced and easy to follow, Naughty Sprinkles makes its appearance again (I’m loving this cupcake shop), and three more people find their happily-ever-after in last place any of them expected to find love. I enjoy watching all the characters from the Sunset Point series make appearances too. I give it 5 of 5 stars.
Tattoos and Cupcakes by Hennessee Andrews
Being sequestered on Sunset Point Island is the least of Lane Erikson’s worries. Being a witness to a murder may be her demise. What does one do when a network of FBI wanted criminals are looking to kill you? You run like hell, even it’s to a place you’ve never heard of.
Dane Hutchinson, local tattoo artist, sets his sights on winning Lane’s affection and sharing her with Bannock Garrison, Sunset Point police officer. Bannock never wanted a ménage relationship, even though his parents have lived a happy life in one. The idea of sharing a woman bothers him, but losing Dane’s friendship bothers him more.
As the relationship begins to soar with possibilities, Lane is faced with her world crashing down again and her life hangs in the balance. Can Bannock and his colleagues save the day? More importantly, can Bannock overcome his distrust for women and allow Lane into his heart and share her with his best friend?
I was extremely excited to read this book in the Sunset Point series for one reason…..Naughty Sprinkles. I just wanted to read anything and everything about Naughty Sprinkles and its fabulous cupcakes. But I was even more surprised and impressed by how much I enjoyed the characters too (sorry Hennessee…I’m all about the cupcakes some days). Ms. Andrews takes us on an erotic journey with Reese, Dane, and Bannock and some chemistry so hot that not even the strongest buzz from chocolate, liquor, and whipped cream can touch. Reese is actually Lane, hiding out in Sunset Point after witnessing a violent crime. Bannock and Dane are best friends and while Dan has entertained the idea of sharing with Bannock, Bannock has no intentions of sharing or every falling in love again. My first impression of Reese was that she was slightly selfish but once she got to Sunset Point, she redeemed herself. She was honest, curious, funny, and, despite first impression, seemed very unsure of herself and her worth. She grew on me and I admired her strength and passion. Dane, our tattooed, Harley-riding bad boy was sex on a stick covered in chocolate syrup and rolled in candied cherries. I just wanted to lick him. And Bannock? Ok, honestly, I spent majority of this book seriously wanting to kick his ass from one end of the island to the other then the rest of the story wishing I was there to strip him out of his uniform and have my wicked way with him. And that is what makes this book even more of a success. If you take away the brilliantly cast characters, the suspenseful plot, the exotic setting, and the loveable secondary characters, Ms. Andrews brought so many emotions to the surface and made you feel so many things, you couldn’t help but not put this book down. Yet still, if you stir and shake all those things with some mind-blowing sex scenes, a little bit of comedy (I died laughing mentally picturing a table-breaking “lunch hour”), some soul searching by all of the characters, and one or two come-to-Jesus moments, you have the recipe for a smashing success of a story that will charm and entertain readers indefinitely. I give Tattoos and Cupcakes 5 of 5 stars.
Breaking Point by Susan Hayes
Lexa Fox lost her childhood the day her mother took her and fled Sunset Point. Twenty-three years later, she’s returning to claim her inheritance from a father she barely remembers, in a place she doesn’t belong.
Detectives Beau Rivers and Diego Mendez grew up in ménage families and always knew they’d be a trio if they could find the right woman. They’d found her once, but fate took her out of their lives long before they were old enough to stake their claim. No woman since has ever managed to live up to their memories of Lexa, so when fate brings their childhood sweetheart back into their lives, they do everything they can to convince their gray-eyed, world-weary beauty to stay.
There are dangers to be faced and enemies to overcome, but in the end it’s up to her men to show her that some hearts never give up hope, and some loves have no Breaking Point.
I absolutely love stories like this, where the heroine returns to her hero after being gone for a very long time and this one was even sweeter given how we have two heroes who have literally waited their whole lives for their love to return. Lexa is an amazing woman with who finally returns home after having her mind twisted and turned by her mentally ill mom. That Lexa has given her life to helping her mom endears me to her more. Lexa is kind and sweet and while slightly standoffish in the beginning, she warms and welcomes Sunset Point into her heart and mind. Diego and Beau are childhood best friends of each other and Lexa and have waited forever for her, never imagining she would actually return and grant them their lifelong dream. They barely miss each other on quite a few occasions but once they finally see her, they waste no further time in making her theirs. Both men are sexy yet sweet and completely possessive of Lexa. One of my favorite parts? A very spontaneous and sexy encounter at the police station that left the office in less-than-perfect condition. Naughty Sprinkles makes an appearance again and we have one seriously creepy and horrible bad guy who meets his end in a very original, and cheer inspiring, way. This book was a fun and romantic adventure full of sensual surprises, enduring love, and finding your way back home. I give it 5 of 5 stars.
