What Worked For Me:
Baby, Don’t Go is book 3 in the Yeah, Baby series, and it’s a deliciously raunchy love story featuring Jack Halston, who we are introduced to in book 1, Baby, You’re Mine. I have to tell you, I was dying to get my hands on his story and I was not disappointed. I knew a man who went all alpha when his sister got knocked up was going to blow my mind when he did some knocking up of his own. Whew! The chemistry between Jack and his lady love, BFF turned fantasy woman, Ellie, is off the charts smoldering!!! I love that they are friends before they are lovers…it makes the insta-love trope seem more real. Between the jealousy that forces Jack to claim Ellie, Ellie getting a dream job offer that would take her away from Jack, and Ellie getting accidentally-on-purpose pregnant, this book was a decadent treat that kept me turning the pages as quickly as I could then had me starting all over again, just to relive the eroticism of their love story. There is no deep and suspenseful plot but I love a quick and dirty read that makes me reminisce how amazing falling in love is. I love it even more that Ms. Davenport gives us a glimpse into their life many years later and doesn’t leave us hanging, wondering how it all works out for Jack and Ellie. I look forward to reading the next novella in the Yeah, Baby series.
What Didn’t Work For Me:
If anything, this book was too short. I loved Jack and Ellie so much, I wished their story had been longer.
Would I Recommend This Book:
Yes, especially to my reading friends who love insta-love and accidental pregnancy tropes (some of my favorites).
Final Star Rating:
Guy Rule #3: No sex in the friend zone.
Jack Halston’s life changed when his best friend married his sister. He started flying solo more often, especially once his niece and nephew were born. It made him reexamine his life and consider the possibility of settling down. But finding the right woman isn’t easy—unless she’s the one who filled the gap your best friend left behind.
Ellison Reed enjoyed her long-standing work flirtation with Jack. When their friendship deepened over time, she did her best to ignore the chemistry which sizzled whenever he was near… until the night Jack’s possessive tendencies exploded and he claimed the woman who was his. Before someone else could.
An accidental pregnancy between two surgeons who should have known better. A job offer in another state Ellison would be crazy to turn down. Too bad the path from friends to lovers is so complicated.
