What Worked For Me:
I’m not sure what you are doing right now, other than reading this review, but my first piece of advice to you would be to purchase this book immediately….then order in pizza, put the kids to bed early, find those comfy p.j.’s and settle in for one deliciously intense love story that will have you falling in love with just being in love, over and over again. This book moved me on so many levels. Micah is our brooding and intensely passionate hero. I lusted after him immediately but I flat out craved him even more with the way he pursued Allie, our heroine, so thoroughly. For a man who seems so remote and cold to the outside world, he is very warm and giving and generous. I loved so many facets of his character and each layer the author revealed delighted me as a reader. I was surprised, repeatedly, but the depth of emotion Micah possessed and it was a breath of fresh air in a world full of cookie cutter romance heroes. And Allie? I adored her. She is everything I like in my heroine…she’s not a doormat and she knows exactly what she wants. She is willing to fight to work in a relationship but she isn’t willing to settle and just be some man’s arm candy. She has standards and a ridiculous amount of class and grace. There isn’t one thing about her as a character the author could have written differently that would have made her any better. Micah and Allie both have issues and obstacles to face, both separately and together but there is no denying from the very first meeting that they have some very explosive chemistry. I was almost blushing at the intensity of their attraction! There is a fantastic storyline that had me not putting down my device, not for anything. I was engaged and entertained the entire time. There are also plenty of secondary characters we are introduced to that make you thirst for their stories. While there is some angst, there isn’t anything over-the-top that has you rolling your eyes at its absurdity, which has been a theme in some books of late. Bound Beneath His Pain is a wonderfully written and decadently erotic treat for the senses and I personally would like to volunteer my time to visit Ms. Kennedy and offer nanny and housekeeping services, something I would NEVER do, just to ensure she has adequate time to write the next book in this series as quickly as possible. Easily one of the best books I have read this year.
Would I Recommend This Book:
Yes…to any and all of my romance and erotic romance reading friends.
Final Star Rating:
5 Stars (but more like 10)

The USA Today bestselling author of the Club Sin novels kicks off a deeply sensual new series by introducing readers to Micah, a man who takes what he wants—until he meets the one woman he needs.
When that sexy smile makes her body burn, Allie tries with all her might to ignore it. For one thing, Micah’s her new boss. For another, he’s as complicated as he is devastatingly handsome. Still, Allie can only fight so much before she gives in to his dangerous games. She knows he’s got dark secrets. But when she discovers the true depth of his pain, Allie must decide how far she’s willing to go to light the way for love.
Bound Beneath His Pain is intended for mature audiences.
Stacey Kennedy is the USA Today bestselling author of the Dirty Little Secrets and Club Sin series. She writes deeply emotional romances about powerful men and the wild women who tame them. When she’s not plugging away at a new story, she’s either hiking, canoeing, relaxing around a campfire, or obsessing over Penny Dreadful, Game of Thrones, or Outlander. Stacey lives in southwestern Ontario with her husband (who puts any of the heroes in her books to shame), their two young children, and her third baby: a mini labradoodle named Jax.
