REVIEW:

What Worked For Me:  It’s been awhile since I’ve read anything by Anne Marsh so it was a lovely treat to read Sweet For A SEAL.  It was also very easy to remember why I love her quirky and zany brand of writing.  This book was fun and fresh with a unique plot.  Now, I must admit, at first, I absolutely did not like our hero, Finn.  He is a dawg!  Talk about being over cocky and even a touch of a braggert.  Still, his occupation was endearing and his propensity for collecting stray animals, even more charming so I stuck with him, and I sure am glad I did.  There were so many layers underneath this bed-hopping ex-SEAL and once you got to know him, he was an amazingly beautiful character.  His heroine, Vali, is a total sweetheart who has known her own amount of pain and loss.  But she is such an inspiring woman who is embracing so many sides of life since she has such a renewed appreciation for it.  Finn and Vali are absolutely perfect for each other.  The have amazing chemistry…really, the two of them caused sparks to shoot out of my Kindle.  The sex scenes were tastefully written and erotic without being over-the-top.  Finn’s partners and Vali’s friends are interesting and have intrigued me so much, I hope the author tells their stories.  I laughed quite a few times at the antics of Vali’s mother and found her to be a hopeless romantic, who gives some pretty stellar advice!  The plot is steady and well written with just the right amount of angst to keep you engaged.  One of my favorite things about this book is that neither Finn or Vali were perfect.  The author made both of them extremely real, complete with current medical issues and traumas that make them who they are.  I applaud the author and willingness to make these characters believable, as if you could picture yourself as one of them.  Overall, this book was a fun and entertaining read and I look forward to more books in this series.

What Didn’t Work For Me:

The ending of this book felt a tad bit rushed and left me hanging a little bit.  Hopefully we can see more of this couple and what the future brings for them in the next book.

Would I Recommend This Book:  Yes, to my friends who like contemporary romances with lots of heat and well written, believable characters.

Final Star Rating:  4.5 Stars

SWEET FOR A SEAL
Assignment: Caribbean Nights #3
Anne Marsh

“My dating life has starred cupcake men—sweet but more icing than cake and nothing that could keep my mouth busy for a more than a few minutes. Finn Callahan? He’s cake. A five-layer, lusciously frosted gateau.” – Valentina Fuentes

I’ve never met a woman I couldn’t love—for one night. I’m the bad boy, the player, the sexy heartbreaker you meet in a bar and take home. And after my last hellish tour of duty as a SEAL, sun, sand, and sex are my new mission in life. Happily ever after? Pass. I’ll give you the best twelve hours of your life, and then I’m gone because why settle down when playing the field is so fun?

All that changes when I meet Valentina Fuentes. Actually, I rescue her from a ditch, which should score me major hero points. She’s even willing to admit I’m hot—and she’ll fool around with me. But convincing her that I’m anything but a sun-and-good-times boy toy? That’s mission impossible. She argues I’m the loaner car girlfriends pass around… and, sure, she’s willing to take me for a ride. A short ride. And for the first time in my life, I’d like more than a twelve-hour relationship.

When did one woman make my smooth-talking bad boy self start dreaming of forever?
