I love the work of Shayla Black and His Undeniable Secret was a great read. It’s super fast and short (think 30 minutes) but long on sexual heat and passion. After tragedy has taken the life of her brother, our heroine, Kayla, tries to hold on to the one thing in this world she wants more than anything….her brother’s best friend, Oliver. Oliver has been lusting over Kayla for too long and he feels so guilty about it, he decides to make a clean break and leave the country. So begins a fast paced, erotic read in which Kayla pulls out all the stops to make Oliver see that she only wants him. I adored Kayla and my heart hurt so much for her! I almost wanted to jump in the book and beg Oliver to stay for her! When confronted with her feelings for him, Oliver tries to fight it, but it’s futile. They have mind-blowing chemistry and the sex is erotic and breathtaking. The plot moves quickly as these two learn what it means to belong to one another. Oliver is very alpha and over-the-top and this works on so many levels! I like both characters immensely and I was sad to see their story end so quickly. This is a terrific read if you are in the mood for some explosive sex and very little angst. This trope is a favorite of mine and Ms. Black nails it perfectly! 4 Stars.
A short-story erotic romance from Shayla Black:
I’m twenty one.
I’m afraid because ever since a sudden, terrible tragedy, I’m alone in the world—except for my brother’s best friend. But now Oliver intends to move back to London.
I’m in love with him. And I have to persuade him to stay…somehow.
Maybe if I tell him I’m a virgin and show him just how far I’m willing to go to keep him, he’ll give in.
Of course, I never expected that he’d be keeping a shocking secret of his own…
