Review – The Clover Chapel by Devney Perry

 Review:

There is not much I can say, because quite frankly their aren’t enough words in the human dictionary, to describe how utterly fantastic The Clover Chapel was.  From the first moment we meet Emmie and Nick, you just know that their love story is going to be one that will break your heart and then re-mend it.  They meet in Vegas, get married, and then Nick vanishes from Emmie’s life.  Shes moved on as best she could but she decides to make a change in her life and just so happens to move to the town where her long-lost husband is a resident.  Separately, the are outstanding characters.  Nick is protective and fierce and knows from the moment he set his eyes on Emmie again, that things are going to be different and he sets out to make up for all the pain he has caused her.  It was beautiful and gut-wrenching.  Emmie is lovely and strong and has never fully healed from Nick’s desertion so seeing him again set her life in a tailspin, one in which she is scare and unsure how to navigate.  Through the ups and downs, we learn and about love and forgiveness and how powerful the draw of your soul mate can be.  The sex was erotic but full of emotion.  Their chemistry is instantaneous and neither of them can control how the feel towards the other.  Their story made me laugh and cry and overwhelmed me with the sheer beauty of second chances.  The plot is fast paced and easy to follow.  There is a little bit of angst and suspense but not enough to detract from the love story unfolding.  Overall, there was not one thing about The Clover Chapel I didn’t love and I am on pins and needles waiting for the next book in this series.  Ms. Perry has burst into the writing scene with her ability to weave sensual yet emotional romances and I expect she will be a huge asset to the writing community.  I would recommend this book to anyone who loves second chance romances and romances where the hero must redeem himself and win back his lady loves heart.  5 stars!

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About The Clover Chapel:

She took a dare and fell in love. Truth would have been the smarter choice.

After years of living under her father’s thumb, Emmeline is ready to break free. She’s abandoned her life as a New York socialite to follow her dream of becoming a kindergarten teacher in a small, wholesome town. Seeing the man that nearly broke her was absolutely not what she had hoped to find in Prescott, Montana.

Nick hasn’t seen his Emmy in nine years, but that doesn’t mean he’s forgotten a thing about the woman he loves. After just one blissful night as man and wife, he gave her up, sacrificing his own happiness to keep her safe—far away from him. But the moment she walks back into his lonely life is the moment he decides never to let her go again. He won’t waste his second chance. All he has to do is win back Emmeline’s heart, keep her safe from the shadows in his past and prove to her that taking a wager on him is a sure bet.
